Bestanddele:

One whole panettone left over from Christmas

2 eggs

1 cup of milk

1 cup of cream

1 cup of white sugar

100ml brandy

B-Well non-stick spray

Metode:


  • Separate the egg yolks and stir into the sugar to form a paste in a mixing bowl.

  • Heat the milk, cream and brandy together and heat until just below boiling.

  • Slowly add the hot mixture into the bowl to make a thin custard stirring constantly to ensure the eggs do not scramble.

  • A little bit at a time.

  • Line a baking dish with B-Well non-stick spray.

  • Line the bottom of the dish with slices of panettone cut around three centimeters thick.

  • Pour the custard over the slices until very moist.

  • Add a second layer if necessary to fill the dish.

  • It is important that the cake be completely moist with the custard.

  • If it is not make more.

  • Place the baking tray in a 180˚C oven for around 10 minutes until the custard and cake starts to brown on top.

  • Serve immediately hot.

  • Spoon out large portions into bowls with vanilla ice cream or whipped fresh cream to garnish.
