Bestanddele:

Oil for frying 

1         Large onion, chopped 

1-2  Garlic cloves, crushed 

15 ml   Chopped parsley

 

5 ml    Fine coriander

  

2ml     Fine cloves 

 

500 g  Minced meat 

2         Bay leaves 

3 ml    Sweet basil 

5 ml    Origanum 

30ml   Tomato paste 

100ml Tomato pasta sauce 0r tomato and onion mix 

250 g  Spinach noodles (green) or lasagne pasta  

Salt and pepper to taste 

500 g Streaky Bacon

Metode:


Voorbereiding:

Heat the oil and lightly sauté in it the onion, garlic and parsley.

Add the minced meat, bay leaves and other flavourings, and the tomato paste and puree.

Stir well and cook slowly until meat is just cooked. (about 15 minutes)

Place the bacon on a cling wrap plastic sheet. In the meantime, boil the noodles in salted water until tender and drain

Place the blanched pasta sheets on top some more plastic sheets..

Add the mince mixture and top the pasta and add some more cheese.

Roll the pasta into a sausage.

Place the sausage roll onto the bacon and roll again.

Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. 

Slice and serve with cheese sauce

In the meantime, boil the noodles in salted water until tender and drain

Cheese sauce:

50g   shortening

50 ml  flour

500 ml  milk

Salt & pepper to taste

125 ml   grated cheddar cheese

Method: Cheese sauce

Melt the shortening over low heat. Stir in the flour to make a roux. Cook the roux for 1 minute.

Gradually stir in the milk. Bring to boil, stirring all the time.

Allow the white sauce to boil for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the salt and pepper.

Allow the white sauce to cool slightly. Add the grated cheese.
