Bestanddele:

2 cups of self raising rice flour

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp raw honey

2 eggs whisked 

250ml water

4 tbsp Olive Oil 

Metode:


  • In a mixing bowl mix the rice flour and salt.
  • Mix the water, honey and eggs in a separate bowl and add to the dry ingredients.
  • Stir and mix well till a dough-like texture.
  • Set aside while preheating the oil.
  • Make use of a small size pot.
  • Pour enough olive oil in the pot to have about 4-5 cm of oil deep therein for the vetkoek to be deep-fried.
  • Pre-heat olive oil on medium.
  • Place 1 large spoon of dough into the oil at a time to fry on each side till golden brown.
  • This normally takes about 3 minutes on each side.
  • Remove from the oil and drain on a paper napkin.
  • Allow to cool off.
  • Split in half and fill with mince or filling of your choice.
